Event Outline

On July 30, 2023, the Institute for Global Governance Research (GGR) held the 3nd Zoom meeting as part of the GGR Intensive Seminar entitled “Countering Disinformation and Protecting Democracy” held in February of the same year. The participants of the GGR intensive seminar are currently working on developing essays on strategies to combat disinformation, based on the outcomes of the seminar. During this meeting, three groups—the Vaccination Group, the Japan-Korea Group, and the Okinawa Group—presented draft essays outlining their approaches to tackling disinformation, and discussions were held to refine these drafts. The meeting was attended by ten participants from the GGR intensive seminar, Professor Maiko Ichihara, a faculty member from the Graduate School of Law and the School of International and Public Policy, who is also a GGR researcher, and one GGR research assistant. GGR plans to continue holding regular meetings to discuss papers on other topics.
