The European Green Deal and the Young Next Generation

Summary On 14 July 2021, the European Commission published a comprehensive proposal consisting of 12 measures to strengthen the implementation of the European Green Deal. Among them, the de facto ban on the sale of new “gasoline cars”, and other types, including hybrids, by 2035 and the gradual introduction of a Border Carbon Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) to tax imports from countries with lax environmental regulations; have been in the news and are of wide public knowledge. This short article is focused on the European Green Deal in relation to the next young generation.
