【About the Lecturer】
Chihhao Yu
Chihhao Yu is a software engineer and an information designer. He is co-director of IORG, coordinating research, engineering, community engagement, and international exchange at the organization. He is also a contributor to g0v, Taiwan’s civic hacking community, and an organizer of Facing the Ocean, an East Asia civic hacking network. IORG is a Taiwanese civil society research organization that studies the Mandarin information environment. They publish data science reports to expose information manipulation and foreign influence in Taiwan’s information environment. They host workshops with local partners nationwide to enhance information literacy among students, teachers, and communities. Since 2019, they have worked to advance understanding of Taiwan’s information environment, facilitate reasonable public discourse, and strengthen Taiwan’s democratic resilience.
Niranjan Sahoo
Dr. Niranjan Sahoo is a Senior Fellow at Observer Research Foundation, a leading think tank in New Delhi. Dr. Sahoo now leads ORF’s studies and programs on democracy and governance in South Asia. A recipient of the Ford Asia Fellowship (2009) and Sir Ratan Tata Fellow (2010), Dr. Sahoo currently serves as a regional coordinator for Asia Democracy Research Network (ADRN), Seoul. He is a Visiting Senior Fellow with the Centre for Multilevel Federalism, Delhi.
