On December 13, 2025, the Institute for Global Governance Research (GGR) at Hitotsubashi University held the 22nd Zoom meeting as a follow-up session to the GGR Intensive Seminar, “Countering Disinformation and Protecting Democracy.” Participants who had taken part in previous intensive seminars gathered for this session and are working in groups to develop analytical papers on measures to counter disinformation and misinformation. In addition, to deepen their understanding of disinformation and narratives, the participants are jointly reading and discussing key scholarly texts. In this session, participants explored dialogical approaches to narratives and discussed issues such as the ethical dimensions of counternarratives and the differences between authoritarian and democratic narratives. GGR will continue to hold regular meetings to advance further discussions in preparation for the presentation and publication of these papers.
