【About the speaker】

Dr. Lynn Lee is the Senior Director for East Asia and Strategic Partnerships at the National Endowment for Democracy (NED), where she has served since 2009. In her current role, Dr. Lee oversees NED’s China and North Korea programs and leads strategic initiatives and leads initiatives to strengthen democratic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, as well as cross-regional efforts to counter authoritarian influence. Dr. Lee also cultivates partnerships with like-minded donors and institutions to enhance strategic coordination. She has over 20 years of experience in civil society development, human rights and democracy support, project design and evaluation, and coalition building. Her work has appeared in Foreign Policy, 38 North, and American Purpose. Dr. Lee holds a Ph.D. in Development Studies from the University of Sussex and a master’s in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
