On February 27, 2025,“Climate change litigation before the European Court of Human Rights – judge dialogue and the KlimaSeniorinnen case “authored by Professor Yumiko Nakanishi(Graduate School of Law)was published in Yuhikaku Online Law Journal. This article examines the KlimaSeniorinnen judgment, judged by the European Court of Human Rights, one of the climate change litigation cases in Europe. Focusing on this decision, Professor Nakanishi clarifies how courts have advanced the protection of rights in the context of climate issues, and highlights the role that judicial dialogue has played in this development.
