On August 9, 2025, the Institute for Global Governance Research (GGR) held the 20th zoom meeting as part of the GGR Intensive Seminars, “Countering Disinformation and Protecting Democracy.” The participants in the GGR intensive seminars are currently working on papers outlining strategies to combat dis(mis)information based on the insights gained from the seminars. During this meeting, they discussed a specialized book on strategic communication to deepen their understanding of disinformation and narratives. An active discussion took place on the current situation and future possibilities of strategic communication in Japan. GGR plans to continue holding regular meetings to discuss papers on disinformation.
