On April 27, 2025, the Institute for Global Governance Research (GGR) held the 17th Zoom meeting as part of the GGR Intensive Seminars, “Countering Disinformation and Protecting Democracy.” The participants in the GGR intensive seminars are currently working on papers outlining strategies to combat dis(mis)information based on the insights gained from the seminars. During this meeting, two groups, focusing on dis(mis)information concerning the Kurdish people and Gaza, respectively, presented their drafts that outline their analysis of disinformation and their approaches to tackling it, after which the participants discussed the drafts to refine them. Additionally, they discussed specialized books to deepen their understanding of disinformation and narratives. GGR plans to continue holding regular meetings to discuss papers on disinformation.
