Comment on “Chain Izakaya Personnel Making Places for Foreign Part-Timers: It is My Place” [in Japanese]

On July 21, 2024, a comment of Professor Maiko Ichihara of the Graduate School of Law on the Asahi Shimbun article, “Chain Izakaya Personnel Making Places for Foreign Part-Timers: It is My Place” was published. This article covers the life of a Vietnamese person working full-time in Tokyo. Professor Ichihara commented that the role of such individuals, as described in the article, in helping foreigners adjust to life in Japan is extremely important, and expressed her hope that the number of foreign-born people actively contributing to Japanese society will increase.
