About the speaker:
Dr Erika Miller specializes in international history, focusing on energy security, Anglo-American relations, and Middle East peace process. She is currently the senior lecturer of University of Niigata Prefecture. After studying international history at LSE, she completed her PhD project at King’s College London in 2019. From 2019 to 2021, she was the postdoctoral fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS), conducting her research project (The Other Middle East Peace Process 1982-1989: Britain, Japan and the Palestinians) at Hitotsubashi University. She has just published a monograph, titled Britain and Japan in the 1973 Middle East Oil Crisis: Washington’s Silent Partners (London and New York: Routledge, 2024).
