About the Lecturer:

Wataru Kusaka is a professor at the School of Language and Culture, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies. He completed doctoral program in International Social and Cultural Studies at Kyushu University. He has worked as a research fellow in Kyoto University’s Global COE program and as an assistant professor at the Institute for Research in Humanities, Kyoto University. Additionally, he served as an associate professor at the Graduate School of International Development, Nagoya University. His research interests revolve around the struggle for democracy and social order in the Philippines, as viewed from the perspective of marginalized communities.
