On August 27, 2023, the Institute for Global Governance Research (GGR) held the 4th Zoom meeting as part of the GGR Intensive Seminar entitled “Countering Disinformation and Protecting Democracy” held in February 2023. The participants of the GGR intensive seminar are currently working on developing essays on strategies to combat disinformation based on the outcomes of the seminar. During this meeting, the Japan-Korea Group and the Taiwan Group presented draft essays outlining their approaches to tackling disinformation, and discussions were held to refine these drafts. The meeting was attended by six participants from the GGR intensive seminar, Professor Maiko Ichihara, a faculty member from the Graduate School of Law and the School of International and Public Policy, who is also a GGR researcher, and one GGR research assistant. GGR plans to continue holding regular meetings to discuss papers on other topics.
